EMSLIE S. COLLIER'S CHAPEL OF REST

The decision of whether or not anyone is to visit the deceased is a personal one. Many people take comfort from seeing the deceased at rest and private remembrance rooms are available at our funeral home, or you may wish to have the deceased at your own home.

We are particularly proud of this aspect of our service and know how important it is to our clients. We appreciate that visiting your loved one can be a difficult experience and it is likely to be a memory which stays with you for many years. We will do our utmost to make the visit as comforting as possible so that when you leave us you know your loved one is at rest and in the best possible care.

Emslie S.Collier’s Chapel of Rest has been fully refurbished and is large enough to seat 150 mourners and has full disabled access. The mourners can enter the main chapel door from Broomfield Road and the opportunity for the family to greet the mourners in the vestibule area is available. The chapel is decorated in blue carpets, designer blinds and warm cream walls. The doors and woodwork are made from natural American oak. The seating of individual chairs with inlaid backs and light blue upholstered seats. The chapel is fully fitted with modern air conditioned units.

We provide our own organ and organist if required, or an increasingly popular choice of recorded music which can be assembled and played by your Funeral Director.

With the instillation of two modern screens, families have the opportunity to play picture slides, photographs or videos during or before the service.

From the moment we bring your loved one into our care you can be assured we will treat them with the utmost respect and dignity. We have a private lounge adjacent to the chapel of rest for families to use before a service. Our premises also has two private rest rooms for families to spend time with their loved one. The rooms are tastefully decorated with subdued lighting and a peaceful feel.

There are two arrangement rooms available for families to use to discuss funerals or ideas or if the family feel more at ease, the funeral director will visit the family home to make any arrangements. We have a large, modern and fully equipped mortuary which is provided for all care and preparation.
